All 9th grade students are expected to participate in 1 MATTINA (Morning Service Experience) AND complete 5 additional hours before May 19, 2018.

MATTINAS (Morning in Italian) are class level service trips designed specifically for St. Francis Freshmen. Each Mattina will bring small groups of students to serve at the Midnight Mission, a homeless and social services agency in downtown Los Angeles. Under the supervision of a kitchen staff, your son(s) will help prepare and serve the breakfast meal for over 200 homeless men and women living on Skid Row.

Students will be assigned Mattina dates based on their Link Groups (some exceptions). Families will receive detailed information and a permission slip in a follow up email.

SFHS will provide transportation and faculty supervision for each trip. There is no cost to attend.

Mattinas: These service trips will take place on designated weekday mornings before school (5:30AM-7:45AM) throughout the school year.
