DESCRIPTION
Days of Service are class level service trips designed specifically for St. Francis Juniors. Each Day of
Service will bring groups of roughly 15 students, together with a faculty chaperone, to volunteer at
the Union Rescue Mission, a homeless and social services agency in downtown Los Angeles. Under
the supervision of their staff, your son(s) will assist in their charitable efforts in the community, which
will include but not limited to preparing and serving lunch for over 200 homeless men and women
living on Skid Row.
Students will be asked to sign up for a trip in their religion classes as soon as possible. Spots are on a
first come-first serve basis. Once you have signed up, families will receive detailed information and
permission slips in a follow up email. These service trips will take place on designated Saturdays
(9:00AM-3:00PM) throughout the school year (please see below). SFHS will provide transportation
and faculty supervision for each trip. There is no cost to attend.
